We were very fortunate to meet up with Harry in Jaisalmer. We could not have encountered a better guide. Knowledgeable and articulate, Harry really deepened our understanding of not just Jaisalmer but also aspects of Indian culture in general. We did two days touring with him including the Fort . During our whole stay Harry was on hand to advise on restaurants, shopping and arranged an excellent driver to take us on to our next destination. Honest and thoughtful, Harry is an excellent guide.

We had been to Jaisalmer on our road trip to Rajasthan and we met Harry at the Fort. He offered to show us around. What was meant to be a 2 hour experience turned out to be a whole day event. Hari's knowledge of Jaisalmer Fort and the region at large is second to none. On our walks through the temples and havelis in town, he took great care to give the proper context, answer my questions, and go out of his way to take well-framed photos. He knows the significance of every carving, the history and craftsmanship in each detail, and has an encyclopedic understanding of the spiritual and cultural significance of this amazing place. Our conversations were easy, engaging, and natural—like making an instant friend in a faraway place. A major plus: he knows the Indian trains very well and can assist with onward travel. I wouldn't think of going to Rajasthan with anyone else.

Harry was amazing. We started in Jaisalmer as hapless tourist, and left 3 days later as locals. Harry took us to places we had never heard of, negotiated, advised and displayed a knowledge of his city that can only come from a lifetime spent living there. The visit to his family temple was a highlight of our trip to India and we can't thank him enough. Anyone planing a trip to Jaisalmer should check that Harry is available first, then look at accommodation. You can always change hotels, but there is only one Harry. Easily the best guide in India.
